Secrets
Are you sure you can keep secrets?,
Or, do you tell, and they become habits?
Do you give your word to keep secrets,
and then in conversation they become favorites?

How could you betray your friends?
Does it come easily and then make amends?
Is keeping secrets part of your integrity?
Do you know telling them is really catty?

Do you whisper telling a friend not to tell?
And then you’re on your way wishing them well
Do you understand what they think of you?
How deceitful, untrustworthy, and no virtue

Or, the best secrets are really never told
As your mother reminded and foretold
The best secrets are never told
Just like lying, secrets always unfold
