Springtime In Western New York

Rebirth of nature from winters snow
Purple and yellow flowers form springtime's theme
Raindrops from heaven waken buds to grow
A rainbow is created from sunlight's beam

Every spring, the ice boom is removed
At the mouth of the Mighty Niagara River
Protection from ice clogging the power plant is proved
Now the water will flow easily downriver

Gentle breezes flow, and sways the tree branch
Robins are pecking at earth's green cover
Rabbits and squirrels gather and fetch
While robins protect their eggs and hover

Spring is wonderful waking all that sleeps
Hear plants budding, animals hopping and bird peeps
